Why, in a world more connected than ever, do we feel so alone, and how can we fix it?

we begin with a confronting truth:

we live in the most connected era in history, yet people feel more isolated than ever.

In the 1990s, the internet felt magical. Emails zipped across the world, and small online spaces sparked curiosity and possibility. People started becoming addicted to the Internet.

By the 2000s, broadband replaced dial-up, MySpace faded into Facebook and smartphones placed entire worlds in our pockets.

Connection was no longer just digital.
it became a performance.

The 2010s brought infinite scrolls, algorithm-driven feeds, and the dopamine hit of likes. We could speak to anyone, anytime. Yet the more we connected online, the less we belonged offline.

In the 2020s, the cracks became impossible to ignore.

Rates of anxiety, loneliness, and depression soared, especially among young people. Families found themselves together at the dinner table but worlds apart on their screens. Communities became divided. And kindness, once a simple human instinct, began to feel rare amongst the crowded, online noise.

The facts are stark.

  • Over 1 billion people worldwide face mental health issues linked to social isolation and digital overuse (WHO, 2022)

  • Almost a quarter (27%) of the global population feels lonely (Gallup, 2023)

  • Teens spend over 7 hours daily on screens for entertainment (Common Sense Media, 2022)

  • Heavy social media use is tied to higher depression and anxiety in youth (APA, 2023)

  • Loneliness is as harmful as smoking 15 cigarettes a day (OECD, 2022)

that’s why ditox was born.

To change these statistics. Not as another wellness trend. Not as a digital detox escape.

But as a movement to rebuild human connection. We believe wellbeing should be bold, creative, and unforgettable, something you don’t just read about, but actually experience.

That’s why we create immersive pop-ups, live events, workshops and talks that transform wellness into moments of joy, curiosity and community. We build media and education programs that empower young people and families to thrive online and offline. And we partner with schools, businesses, and global communities to make wellness accessible everywhere.

Our vision is simple: to rebuild human connection.

Our mission is clear: to impact at least 1 million people through wellness experiences, media, and education by 2030.

Our commitment is unwavering: to lead with kindness, creativity and authenticity, so that connection becomes a way of life and not just a wish.
